The Wilsterman Foundation Scholarship

Wilsterman Scholarships are available to Genesee County students who have graduated from a public high school within Genesee County, Michigan or Luke M. Powers Catholic High School. Unlike typical scholarships, GPA is not a controlling factor. The Wilsterman Foundation is interested first and foremost in finding students who have great potential but may have struggled in High School due to extenuating circumstances such as work, family issues, setbacks or even “late blooming”. Extra-curricular and community service activities are also heavily considered, all with a focus on the student’s character, financial need and potential. The typical scholarship consists of $5,000 per year for up to four years. Applications can be submitted for support in any of the six years following the year of graduation from high school. At this time the Foundation is focusing on supporting students through their undergraduate academic careers – support will be available for a maximum of four years, or until the scholarship winner has obtained a bachelor’s degree. Awards are made at the sole and absolute discretion of the Advisory Board.
